In recent years, the street snacks of old Yilan City have drawn crowds of tourists eager to queue up and savor them. The unique local flavors leave a lasting impression on visitors and have become one of the defining images of Yilan tourism, as well as nostalgic childhood memories for locals. Recently, the local area hosted the "Taste of Old Yilan" — a special exhibition showcasing the culinary heritage of old Yilan City — featuring traditional dishes such as rice vermicelli stew, zhajiangmian, Yangzi beef noodles, shilu meat, meatball soup, and the craft legends of tuobei noodles.

The Yilan County Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that this special exhibition adopts the "revival of old stalls" display method, aiming to help residents of Yilan County and visitors from elsewhere gain a deeper understanding of the traditional foods and historical culture of old Yilan City. The memorable snacks not only satisfy food lovers' cravings but also allow them to explore the historical connection between these foods and the old city through their founding secrets, stories of inheritance, and development over time.

This special exhibition was organized by Lin Ming-hsin, the head of Ximenli, who gathered local vendors, and designed by Professor Chen Shiqiang from National Changhua University of Education. It features several iconic and distinctive dishes as thematic highlights, including: Ah V’s first-time introduction of pork rice vermicelli, Shi Ji’s handmade dumplings, Yangzi beef noodles, Shi Cai’s roast meat, Zhu Xiaoqin’s stewed pork rice noodles, Tuobei noodles, and more.
