Shahe Reservoir is a national water conservancy scenic area.

Shahe Reservoir is one of the medium to large reservoirs in Jilin Province. It is located 8 kilometers east of Shulan City and 2.5 kilometers from the Wuhua First-Class Highway. Covering an area of 720 hectares, it is the only industrialized fish breeding base in Northeast China established by the Ministry of Water Resources. Here, green mountains and clear waters abound, accompanied by birdsong, fragrant flowers, and fluttering butterflies, creating a picturesque scene. Plans are in place to develop Shahe Reservoir into a destination featuring dining and entertainment zones, ethnic resort areas, bathing and fishing areas, and conference and convalescence zones—making it an ideal spot for vacationing, escaping the summer heat, enjoying the scenery, and fishing.

The water recreation area offers hand-rowed boats, pedal boats, yachts, speedboats, jet skis, and dragon boats for visitors to enjoy.

The ethnic resort area features architectural complexes designed to bridge the gap for northern tourists visiting the south. These are based on the architectural styles, folk customs, and culinary flavors of southern ethnic minorities, reducing the cost of southern travel for northerners and allowing them to experience southern charm.

The bathing and fishing area focuses on natural bathing and fishing, catering to travelers who wish to enjoy the beauty of nature. Around the reservoir, several fishing platforms and beaches equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that remain advanced for decades have been built, providing visitors with ample opportunities for fun.

The conference and convalescence area includes large, medium, and small conference centers that are capable of hosting various types of meetings, as well as offering accommodation, dining, and facilities for middle-aged and elderly convalescents, integrating multiple functions in one location.

The children’s amusement area features a variety of popular activities for kids, equipped with advanced, safe, attractive, and engaging facilities such as roller coasters, log flumes, bumper cars, adventure palaces, mazes, and science centers.

Shahe Reservoir boasts beautiful mountains and rivers, pleasant scenery, comprehensive facilities, and convenient transportation. It receives over 80,000 visitors annually and serves as a nearby tourist destination for Shulan City.
