Shenyang Water Cave Scenic Area

Shenyang Water Cave is located in Baiqingzhai Township, Sujiatun District, and is an important part of the Golden Triangle Forest Park. The Baiqingzhai area enjoys well-developed transportation, with the Shenyang-Benxi Expressway running through it. Both the Biannei and Yangqianhu exits are just three kilometers away—those coming from Benxi can enter via the Biannei exit, while those coming from Shenyang can use the Yangqianhu exit.

Covering an area of 5 square kilometers, Shenyang Water Cave consists of three natural caves: Tangwang Cave, White Tiger Cave, and Cangjun Cave. It was built with an investment of 6 million RMB by the Baiqingzhai Township government and officially opened to the public on June 23, 1998.

Nestled amidst rolling mountains, the cave exterior boasts beautiful landscapes filled with birdsong and floral scents. Inside, the cave winds its way for over 800 meters, offering secluded paths, cascading waterfalls, and a cool, otherworldly atmosphere. Stepping into this ancient cave feels like entering a fantastical realm. Eighteen sets of relief sculptures, themed around the legendary General Xue Rengui’s eastern campaign—including the vivid "Dream Disturbing the Green Dragon"—are brought to life under colorful lighting, creating an immersive experience. It is an ideal destination for escaping the summer heat and enjoying sightseeing.

With its unique advantages, magical legends, and well-rounded service facilities, Shenyang Water Cave has received widespread acclaim from people across Liaoning and Shenyang. It adds a stunning attraction to the city and establishes a new tourism dynamic with the "Strange Slope in the north and Water Cave in the south," filling a gap in the Shenyang area where scenic spots existed but caves did not.

Shenyang Water Cave Scenic Area is the core attraction of the Baiqingzhai Scenic Area and is a comprehensive tourism destination integrating travel, leisure, sightseeing, and entertainment. Recognized as a key attraction by the municipal government, it is hailed as a model of rural tourism development and has been rated as a National AA-level Scenic Area. The area features numerous landscapes and attractions, among which the most representative include the Statue of General Xue Rengui, Lingquan Spring, Guanyin Cave, Cangjun Cave, Beacon Tower, Windmill Watchtower, Longshan Book Garden, Archery Field, Horse Racing Field, Water Park, and the reconstructed Guangfu Temple. In the surrounding mountains, spring brings wild vegetables like fiddlehead ferns, dandelions, and mountain peppers, while summer and autumn yield fruits and nuts such as apple pears, grapes, hawthorns, mushrooms, hazelnuts, and chestnuts—all wild, natural, and green. The area is also known for its traditional Chinese medicinal herbs such as deer antler, ginseng, platycodon, and adenophora. With its picturesque landscapes, unique caves, and clear springs, along with its long-renowned natural and cultural attractions, the fascinating scenery and mystical legends make Shenyang Water Cave Scenic Area a top choice for many travelers.
