Located at the intersection of Gōngyì Road and Dàdūn Intersection in Taichung City, “Akakichi Teppanyaki Steak” hung a banner on the 3rd announcing its relocation to Taiwan Boulevard, about 2 kilometers away, in mid-December. It is understood that the main reason for the move was the rent surge from NT$300,000 to NT$800,000 per month. Although Akakichi is leaving, Gōngyì Road and its surrounding areas have long been a top-tier food destination, home to a plethora of restaurants. Duan Chunzhen Beef Noodles – Taichung Gōngyì Branch
Duan Chunzhen Beef Noodles is a popular noodle spot in Hsinchu and one of the top ten beef noodle brands in Taiwan. The franchise rights outside Hsinchu are held by La Kaffa International, which operates Hello Kitty Café and distributes Japan’s Ginza Anzu Tonkatsu.

UMA Yakiniku – Garden Mansion Branch & Wenshin Branch
Widely regarded as one of the most popular yakiniku spots in Taichung, this restaurant is considered by locals to offer the best value for money. Unlike most Taiwanese yakiniku spots that focus on Australian wagyu, Kazama specializes in 1855 Black Angus beef. Wulao Hotpot
Wulao Hotpot is best known for its duo-flavor hotpot series. Its signature offering is quite eye-catching: a combination of ice cream tofu hotpot and spicy immortal soup. The soft and tender ice cream tofu can be eaten after just ten minutes in the pot, and this novel way of eating has attracted many diners. As for the tofu pot broth, it is simmered with herbs and traditional Chinese medicine, giving off a rich aroma.
