A Must-Read Before Traveling: A Lazy Guide to 13 Taichung Accommodations and Family-Friendly Hotels

Taichung has always been one of the most sought-after travel destinations, and I’m no exception either. Not to mention, Taichung has recently added many new IG-worthy hotspots for social media check-ins, making you eager to rush there and take photos of every corner.

Of course, before traveling to any destination, one of the first things you’ll likely look up is accommodation in Taichung. In this post, Rongrong is here to help everyone compile a list of the most worthwhile, highest-rated, and best value hotels and homestays in Taichung. This will also make it quicker and more efficient for me to find accommodations when I plan future trips to Taichung.

The first Taichung hotel that comes to my mind is this one. It’s located on Minzu Road in the Central District, and the most well-known nearby attraction is the “Liu River.”

The regular price is around 2,000+ TWD, which also breaks the common impression of high prices in this area. The most impressive and eye-catching feature is the super cool spiral slide, a fun facility loved by both adults and children.
Although the price is not high, the facilities and amenities provided are plenty.

There’s a gym, mini bar, ironing equipment, Wi-Fi, in-room safe, coffee/tea-making facilities, kids’ play area… and more. Just reading the description makes you want to stay here.

The Howard Plaza Hotel Taichung is quite a famous old-brand five-star hotel. Although it’s an established name, the online ratings are still very high. It’s located in the central area of the West District, just about 7 km from the bustling districts.

It offers a wide range of leisure facilities: sauna, swimming pool, spa steam room, gym, bar, laundry service, safety deposit box, and souvenir shop. With so many amenities, many guests find it hard to leave after checking in.

It also provides ATM and currency exchange services, making it more convenient for international guests to exchange money. Additionally, breakfast is included for guests, and the regular price is only a little over 3,000 TWD.

Like the Howard Plaza Hotel Taichung, this hotel is also considered an old-brand establishment. Seeing such high online ratings proves that this five-star hotel truly has a certain level of quality, which is why it has earned such praise.

Located on the very spacious Taiwan Blvd., it’s just a 2 km drive from the city center and 10 km from the airport, making it very convenient for both domestic and international travelers. Its prestigious service attitude has always been its warmest form of hospitality.

The hotel’s top-tier entertainment facilities include a fitness center, fitness equipment, sauna, outdoor swimming pool, spa, and children’s playroom, making it the best choice for family travel.

Located in the city center of Taichung, it’s very conveniently accessible and also serves as an ideal base for travel. Just from its appearance, it gives off a luxurious vibe, and it’s right next to the famous Tiger City Mall. Moreover, popular Taichung attractions like Qiuhong Valley and the National Taichung Theater are not far away, making it easy for travelers to visit various hot spots.

Lín Hotel has a total of 309 exquisitely decorated rooms, offering parking, spa, sauna, outdoor swimming pool, gym, bar, restaurant, and more. However, the only downside is that the price is a bit higher than the ones introduced earlier (double rooms are around 4,000+ TWD on weekdays). The higher price also brings a more premium experience.

This hotel is also rated as a 5-star property, located near Section 2 of Taiwan Boulevard, adjacent to the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, and about 2 kilometers from the National Theater. It's very convenient for exploring central Taichung and nearby attractions.

The hotel offers SPA, sauna, steam bath, outdoor swimming pool, gym, and squash courts. Each room is equipped with a baby bathtub, baby Sebamed shower kit, bottle sterilizer, bed rail, and crib.

In 2015, it was listed by Fruits.com.tw as one of the Top 10 Family-Friendly Hotels, making it an excellent choice for family stays.

Although it doesn’t have the scale of a large hotel, the equipment in the rooms is quite good. Amenities include free instant coffee, heating, complimentary bottled water, air purifiers, and more. The hotel also provides a gym, fitness equipment, sauna, and other services, making it an ideal stay for travelers.

Newly opened in 2015, this is a relatively modern hotel. When people think of Taichung, the first place that comes to mind is Fengjia Night Market, which many choose to visit at night. Accordingly, staying at a nearby hotel is the perfect choice. After a day of shopping and eating, you can easily return to the hotel for a good rest.

It’s only a 5–10 minute walk to Fengjia, making it extremely convenient. There’s also a parking lot, providing a safe spot for drivers to park their cars. (Parking fees around Fengjia are quite steep.) The cozy interior makes you feel right at home, making it an ideal hotel to stay at when visiting Taichung.
