Huiyu Secret Garden

Taichung’s newest Instagram-worthy attraction, “Huiyu Secret Garden,” was first unveiled at the end of August. Stretching wooden boardwalks cross an artificial lake, flanked by green hills dotted with trees. Inside, you’ll find wooden bird nests, artistic landscapes, and glass houses—a vibrant scene that feels like stepping into another paradise.

Green Dot Leisure Farm

Located in Shalu, Taichung, Green Dot Leisure Farm began trial operations in March this year. Its piano-shaped white building is highly eye-catching. Especially on the third floor, where the wide-open views allow you to take in stunning sunsets or nightscapes—the breathtaking scenery has quickly won the hearts of many locals, making it a rising star among popular photo spots.

The main building of Green Dot Leisure Farm looks like a pure white piano, while the interior features a light industrial-style design. Even the staircase is crafted to resemble piano keys, complementing the exterior. Currently, the first and second floors are designated as dining areas, while the third floor is open for visitors to freely ascend and enjoy the night view.

PWF Piano. Forest Theme Restaurant is a piano-themed scenic eatery. In addition to its dreamy triangular piano-shaped architecture, the black-and-white keyboard pathway is also a popular spot for photos. With musical elements cleverly integrated throughout, diners feel like performers leaping across the notes. Its high-end ambiance made it an instant hit upon opening, quickly becoming a must-visit destination for young women.

Shalu Dream Street

Located in Shalu, Taichung, Dream Street was originally a food street near the side entrance of Providence University. At its peak, it had 40 stores, but they gradually closed down. Lin, a 32-year-old entrepreneur, decided to take a leap of faith and create a street of dreams—providing a space for aspiring individuals to start businesses. He repositioned this T-shaped street from a simple dining area into a pathway for chasing dreams. He’s not just a landlord leasing storefronts, but also a mentor for young people pursuing their aspirations.

Spanning over 700 square meters, the space includes a breakfast bus, container bar, sports bar, Dream Café, and Koshien Izakaya, along with a sportswear design studio and workshop. The cool ball wall and heart-shaped swing in the park are must-photo spots for Instagram.

Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Cultural and Creative Park

The Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Cultural and Creative Park officially opened on July 23. Located next to the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Beitun District, the park connects attractions such as the Taichung Baseball Story Museum, a sports café, the Good Day Cultural and Creative Market, and container shops. In addition to serving as a multifunctional leisure complex for local residents and baseball fans nationwide, its adorable mini egg-shaped building inspired by "baseball" has also become a major photo spot.

Yide Western-Style House

Taichung has a new hip cultural spot to explore. In 2007, the Taichung City Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau registered the former residence of Lin Maoyang as the “Yide Western-Style House,” a historical building in Taichung. After renovation, this nearly century-old structure has been transformed into a nostalgic art and cultural space where visitors can explore the red-brick old house and step into a wealthy family’s home to witness its former glory.

Covering a large area and open to the public free of charge, Yide Western-Style House features washed pebble and red brick walls that make for highly photogenic, nostalgic shots. It's perfect for visitors to explore and take pictures. The site also includes a teahouse offering food, drinks, cultural and creative goods, and an independent bookstore. It officially opened to the public in May—come and enjoy a nostalgic, hipster-style mini trip in Taichung this weekend.

Central East Date Palm Field

Taichung adds another great new photo spot. With its ruggedly handsome shape, tall and majestic form, minimal leaf drop, and varied leaf shapes, the Central East Date Palm is an introduced foreign species in Taiwan. This recently discovered photo hotspot is actually located right next to the popular Dajhu Travertine Trees on Instagram. The landowner does not mind people taking photos, but hopes everyone will act responsibly and not litter, so as not to damage the environment.

The "Totoro Tunnel" is a vast forest of soapberry trees planted by the Taiwan Sugar Corporation. Located on an inconspicuous roadside, the green leaves turn yellow with the seasons, interweaving emerald green, golden yellow, and orange hues into a painting-like landscape. At the very end of the woods, there is a circular arc that looks like it could lead to an unknown realm—the kind of fairy-tale scene you can actually find in real life.

Lele Bookstore

Officially opening at the end of the month, Lele Bookstore operates on the philosophy of “exchange only, no sales.” It aims to let readers feel the warmth of books through their circulation. The interior features a romantic forest-themed decor style, creating an innovative aesthetic space that envelops visitors in the happy atmosphere of books, coffee, and art as soon as they step inside.

Admission requires a fee of NT$100 per person, which covers self-service coffee and tea. Visitors are asked to keep their voices down to avoid disturbing others, take their trash with them, and help maintain cleanliness. Aside from monthly book donation days, Lele only provides access to the existing collection of books for reading and hosts exhibitions, along with irregular events.
