Sujiatun District Martyrs' Cemetery

The Sujiatun District Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism site and a patriotic education base.

Located in Sheshan Village, Chenxiangtun Town, Sujiatun District, the Sujiatun District Martyrs' Cemetery covers an area of 7,200 square meters and is the final resting place for the remains of 363 martyrs. The cemetery features facilities such as a martyrs' memorial monument, tomb areas, a relief sculpture group, and perimeter walls.

In the section for unknown martyrs, the remains of 287 unidentified martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Sujiatun District during the Liberation War are collectively interred. These unnamed heroes gave their lives to liberate and defend the land of Sujiatun. The martyrs’ tomb area includes 111 individual tombs, where 76 martyrs including Zhu Siling, who died during the Liberation War and the socialist construction period, are currently laid to rest.

Yesterday also marked the 59th anniversary of the liberation of Shenyang. On the day of its unveiling, people from all walks of life laid wreaths at the martyrs’ monument. The newly completed and opened Sujiatun District Martyrs' Cemetery has become an important patriotic education base for the entire district and even for the city of Shenyang.
