This day begins in Lhasa, traveling along National Highway 109, also known as the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, which shares fame with the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. The route climbs from Lhasa at an altitude of 3,650 meters up into the mountains. After crossing the 5,190-meter-high Nayinla Pass, you’ll arrive at Namtso Lake, cradled by the sacred mountain Nyenchen Tanglha. Before the completion of the Sichuan-Tibet and Qinghai-Tibet highways by the People's Liberation Army in 1954, all supplies to Tibet relied on the ancient Tea Horse Road. The opening of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway in 2006 further accelerated Tibet’s development.

However, in response to media reports claiming it had "gone out of business," Chihiro's Restaurant posted on Facebook to clarify that this is not the case. The restaurant stated that it collaborates with Hong Kong-based Tung You Enterprise Co., Ltd.'s Taiwan branch, the authorized company for Chihiro, with an agreement to confirm the licensing relationship annually. Due to the expiration of the annual lease, the company had no choice but to give up the original restaurant location. It also requested to terminate the partnership with the licensing company, and both parties reached a mutual agreement to cease operations.
