Attention to travelers heading to Tokyo in the coming days！ In response to U.S. President Trump's upcoming first visit to Japan, Tokyo Metro has implemented anti-terrorism measures, including the removal of trash bins in stations and the temporary closure of lockers, which will not reopen until after November 7. Travelers carrying large luggage that needs to be stored should take special note.

U.S. President Trump is expected to visit Japan from the 5th to the 7th, prompting an upgrade in Tokyo’s anti-terrorism and security measures. To prevent potential dangers such as explosives, Tokyo Metro has temporarily removed all trash bins from 171 stations starting immediately, and posted notices to remind passengers. In addition, all coin-operated lockers in stations will remain closed until the 7th, while increased police patrols will also be deployed within the stations.

JR East Japan has also prohibited the use of coin-operated lockers and trash bins at major stations including Tokyo, Shinjuku, and Shibuya starting from the 4th, while additional security personnel will strengthen patrols between stations and trains.
