Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
Singapore Airlines, ranked second-best airline in the aviation industry’s Oscars, SKYTRAX, has officially launched its new cabin products themed “A Personal Space, A Different Experience.” These include the all-new Singapore Airlines Suites, Business Class, and Economy Class seats, as well as an updated in-flight entertainment system. The products will be installed on Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A380 fleet starting December, offering more space and privacy for passengers in all classes, along with familiar and thoughtfully designed elements tailored for Singapore Airlines travelers.

The newly configured Singapore Airlines A380 will feature four cabin classes with a total of 471 seats, including six Singapore Airlines Suites and 78 Business Class seats on the upper deck, as well as 44 Premium Economy seats and 343 Economy Class seats on the main deck. The six Singapore Airlines Suites located at the front of the upper deck offer extremely spacious private spaces, each with a fully flat bed and a leather seat that reclines up to 45 degrees. A full-size wardrobe and vanity further enhance the premium experience.

The newly designed Singapore Airlines Business Class features seats that are 25 inches wide and can recline into a fully flat 78-inch bed. The partition between two Business Class seats can be fully lowered, transforming the two separate seats into a double bed. Passengers can also enjoy movies on the 18-inch HD touchscreen in a fully reclined seated position. The business panel includes USB ports and power outlets, adjustable reading lights, mood lighting, larger tray tables, and personal storage space for convenience items, making the flying experience even more considerate.

Premium Economy boasts a modern and stylish design. Each seat is 19.5 inches wide and reclines 8 inches, with a seat pitch of 38 inches. Passengers can enjoy an enhanced in-flight entertainment system using noise-canceling headphones provided with the seat and a sleek 13.3-inch Full HD screen. The Economy Class seats, designed and built by RECARO, offer more space and superior comfort through improved design. The new 11.1-inch touchscreen eliminates the need for a remote control, making it more convenient to use.

Singapore Airlines has invested approximately US$850 million in the research, design, development, and installation of new products across its fleet of 19 A380 aircraft. The new cabin products will first be introduced on the first of five new A380s joining the Singapore Airlines fleet in December 2017. The airline will also retrofit its existing 14 A380s to ensure product consistency across its entire A380 fleet.
