The first officially authorized overseas Snoopy-themed restaurant has been temporarily closed since October 1. However, in response to media reports claiming it had "gone out of business," the Snoopy Restaurant clarified on Facebook that this is not the case. The restaurant stated:In partnership with the authorized company, Hong Kong-based Tung Yau Enterprise Co., Ltd. Taiwan Branch, it was mutually agreed to review the authorization relationship annually. Due to the expiration of the annual lease, the company had to give up the original restaurant location and also requested to terminate the partnership with the authorized company. Both parties reached a consensus, leading to the temporary closure.

The Snoopy Restaurant emphasized that the Snoopy-themed restaurant is not going out of business. Its finances are clear, and it has never defaulted on salaries, rent, or payments to suppliers.

Official Statement from the Snoopy-themed Restaurant

Our company partnered with the authorized company, Hong Kong-based Tung Yau Enterprise Co., Ltd. Taiwan Branch, under an agreement to review the authorization relationship annually. Due to the expiration of the annual lease, we had to give up the original restaurant location and also requested to terminate the partnership with the authorized company. Both parties reached a mutual agreement to temporarily close the restaurant. This is not a "bankruptcy" as some news media claimed on October 17, 2017. We hereby solemnly declare that our company’s operations of the Snoopy-themed restaurant have always maintained clear finances, and we have never defaulted on salaries, rent, or payments to suppliers. Some media outlets published reports without interviewing our company for verification, using misleading language without understanding the actual situation. These reports have misled the public and have seriously affected the cooperative relationship and reputation between our company and the authorized Hong Kong-based Tung Yau Enterprise Co., Ltd. Taiwan Branch. Therefore, we are issuing this statement on our fan page to clarify the facts and express our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused to the authorized party.
