HowToTrip: Yipin Bookstore in Taichung Opens with Unlimited Reading for Just NT$100 & Bottomless Coffee & Smoothies

EP – BOOKS , an unlimited-time coffee and book café in Taichung, opened by Steve Day of the Din Tai Fung Group. It boasts an extensive collection of books, including both domestic and international titles, with a focus on art, food, and children’s picture books.The entrance fee is $100 per person, allowing unlimited reading time and free refills on coffee and drinks for the day. If you need to eat during your visit, you can step out and re-enter with your receipt. Each floor has window seats bathed in natural sunlight, creating a bright and perfect environment for reading. EP – BOOKS emphasizes reading, so Wi-Fi and power outlets are not provided. Take a short break from all digital devices and immerse yourself in the world of books.

EP – BOOKS is located next to Taichung’s Wenxin Park, in a high-end building in the 7th Redevelopment Zone, with high ceilings that envelop you in the scent of books.

On the first day of opening, as soon as we stepped into the store, we saw Cindy—sure enough, it’s easy to bump into the team on a store’s opening day.

The music in the bookstore is soft and elegant, but not sleep-inducing. In winter, sitting by the sunlit window is especially cozy and relaxing.

The shop offers a variety of drinks that can be refilled unlimitedly.

Looking around, most of the books are related to art, baking, and food, available in both Chinese and foreign editions.

Except for foreign books, which mostly have only one copy each, Chinese books usually have at least three copies of the same edition, so you won’t face the frustration of wanting to read something that’s unavailable.

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. You can explore the space, pick a good book, and then find a favorite spot to settle down with.

We think Nini and Blue would fit right in here—the selection includes books we love and need. We might just become regulars.

There’s an elevator to the upper floors, but the stairwell also displays a variety of unique books.

We really love the elegant and comfortable vibe upstairs.

The books here are mostly hardcover and interactive, making it a great place to bring kids to foster a love of reading.
