Located in the northeastern part of Kyushu, Oita Prefecture boasts the largest number of hot springs and the highest volume of spring water in Japan. Its hot spring towns, represented by Beppu and Yufuin, have long been favored by domestic and international tourists. Heiankyo Chashi, a matcha specialty store we stumbled upon online. We dropped by in the evening, located on Shida Road. Compared to the lively night market scene across Roosevelt Road, it was much quieter. The space was unexpectedly large, and the sign at the entrance resembled a kind of shield—aside from the very strict time limits for dining (90 minutes on weekdays, 120 minutes on holidays), there was also a high minimum spend: NT$300+10% on weekdays, NT$450+10% on holidays.

Japan’s “standing meal” trend has gradually made its way to Taiwan in recent years. There are now four “standing sushi” (立吞) restaurants in the Taipei area. The earliest to open was Ajishi Sushi Standing, followed by Uoichiba Standing and West Lake Mini Standing. This year, a new standing sushi spot, Wosushi, opened at ATT 4 FUN. However, Ajishi has recently received mixed online reviews, while West Lake Mini Standing has been growing in popularity, and Uoichiba Standing remains a favorite. In addition to standing sushi, there’s also a tiny standing “omelette roll” (蛋卷) shop on Fùjǐn Street in Taipei, and in Banqiao, there’s a standing sandwich shop called Little Clear Sky.

Regarding the news that early-bird tickets for the "2015 Poseidon Electronic Carnival" sold out rapidly but no rental venue at Fulong Beach was secured, Fleur Hotels issued a statement on the 3rd stating that as the event had not been approved by the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration and failed to submit required safety plans and supporting measures as per regulations, the hotel declined the rental based on safety concerns.
