Must-read before traveling: A dengue fever situation summary for major popular attractions in Tainan

Reports of dengue fever outbreaks in Tainan have caused concern among travelers. The Tainan City Government’s Tourism Bureau has compiled the current dengue fever status of key tourist areas frequented by visitors, such as Garden Night Market, Chimei Museum, Colorful Village, Anping, and Sicao, to serve as a reference for those planning to visit Tainan.

In addition, Tainan’s 11 tourist service centers also offer consultation services. Travelers who have concerns about dengue fever-prone areas while planning their itinerary can call for inquiries. Below is the dengue fever situation in each major tourist area (data as of September 4):

The Tainan City Tourism Bureau stated that although the Zhongzheng District's Chihkan area, where Chihkan Tower is located, has recorded a total of 5 cases, it remains a relatively low-risk travel area that does not warrant excessive concern.As for the Anping Canal area, which spans a long distance, the residential neighborhoods along the canal—Pingtong Li, Huaping Li, Yiping Li, Jianping Li, and Anhai Li—have reported case numbers higher than 5. Other areas have fewer cases, but they are not typical tourist zones, so visitors are advised to minimize travel to these areas.

Finally,Garden Night MarketThe Wencheng Li neighborhood in North District, where Garden Night Market is located, has recorded a cumulative total of 37 cases (approximately 10 cases in the past two weeks), making it the area with the highest number of cases among these attractions.
