To accommodate the large crowds visiting the “2015 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taichung,” Taiwan Railways will operate 291 additional commuter trains between Taichung–Changhua and from Xinyi to Dajia from February 27 to March 15, 2015. From March 6 to 15, a special lantern-themed painted train service will run daily between Songshan and Xinyi (one round trip), bringing the total number of extra services to 311.

I think most people in Taichung are quite familiar with this stretch of Jingming Street, but over the past decade or so... I’ve always felt it’s no longer as bustling. I remember that ‘Spring Water Hall’ was closed for renovation for a year or two, and during that time, it seemed even less crowded. Instead, the space gave rise to a variety of uniquely styled cafés and restaurants along nearby Jingcheng Street. Pingtung’s painted rice fields collaborate with LINE; 3D Brown Bear to appear in a month
In 2015, Asia’s largest rice field event will take place in Pingtung County. On the 26th, Pingtung County Magistrate Pan Meng-an announced a collaboration with a messaging app company to plant one hectare of colored rice fields in Nanzhou Township. Using Taiwan’s colored rice technology, mobile stickers will “pop up” and emerge above the rice fields, playing with the public on the Pingtung Plain.

During the holiday season, Nantou’s Monkey Well Sky Bridge saw massive crowds. To effectively manage the number of visitors and maintain a comfortable visiting experience, on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year (2/23), the bridge urgently implemented one-way traffic. Visitors were only allowed to enter the bridge from the park side, with access from the bridge’s end prohibited, in order to regulate the number of people on the bridge and their movement flow. Nantou’s Monkey Well Sky Bridge has officially introduced a compensation measure: visitors who show their purchase receipt from the fifth day of the Lunar New Year can enjoy one free entry to the park during the year 2015.
