Do you love the sizzle of delicious meat on the grill, then dipped in just a touch of seasoning before popping it into your mouth? Then try out Taipei’s legendary “Big Four Yakiniku” spots in the yakiniku scene—Moe, La Kampai, Da Wan, and Hutong. Though none of these four offer an all-you-can-eat format, they use premium-grade beef that keeps foodies coming back for more.

Moe’s main branch is tucked away in an alley next to CTS, with only a small red sign at the entrance—not very noticeable. But it has a solid reputation in the yakiniku world, and now also has a second and third branch. Moe specializes in beef, and you can even find explanatory charts of different beef cuts on the walls. According to the shop owner, the restaurant’s signatures are the skirt steak and short plate—both tender and flavorful. The owner says the skirt steak has a stronger beefy taste with a unique aroma, while the short plate has the most marbling, so it should be grilled a bit longer.
