"Star-Studded" Taiwanese Hotels Compete to Host Michelin-Starred Chefs

Taiwan’s culinary scene is shining bright in March and April as hotels compete to host Michelin-starred chefs for guest appearances. So far, three hotels — The Western, Sheraton, and The Regent Taipei — have announced plans to welcome Michelin-starred chefs from around the world.

The Western Hotel was the first to announce its collaboration with a Michelin-starred chef. It has invited French Chef Xavier Mathieu, who holds one Michelin star, to Taiwan from March 3 to March 31. His menu will feature over a hundred classic French dishes, including French-style snails in parsley sauce, Provençal frog legs with herbs and tomato, premium foie gras terrine with fig jam on brioche, and traditional bouillabaisse. Each guest can enjoy the experience for a starting price of NT$1,100 plus 10% service charge.

Sheraton Taipei’s Anton Restaurant is proud to host renowned French chef Bruno Ménard, who has earned three Michelin stars. The exclusive guest appearance is limited to just six seatings across lunch and dinner from March 27 to March 29. The lunch set is priced at NT$6,600 (plus 10% service charge), while the dinner set costs NT$13,600.

The Regent Taipei has brought in Pietro Leemann, the chef-owner of Joia — Italy’s only Michelin-starred vegetarian restaurant — to create an exclusive “Green Planet: Hand in Hand with Earth” Michelin dining experience. The limited-time offering will be available for lunch and dinner from the evening of April 22 through April 25 on the sixth floor at “Le Thé Tea Lounge.” Each guest will be charged NT$6,800 (plus 10% service charge).
