Nine Bendings of Xilin River

Introduction The Nine Bendings of Xilin River are located 13 kilometers southeast of Xilinhot City. In this section of the Xilin River, the right bank is steep while the left bank is gentle, causing frequent shifts in the riverbed and leaving behind numerous meanders. Here, you can admire the exceptionally beautiful meandering bends of the Xilin River, which have inspired many photography enthusiasts to create stunning works. The 1998 special stamp sheetlet of Xilingol was photographed against this backdrop. The floodplains on both sides of the riverbed are covered with abundant reeds and other aquatic plants, adding to the beauty of the meandering river. Downstream of the bends lies the Xilin River Reservoir, a great spot for fishing enthusiasts. Along the meandering banks, uniquely shaped bedrocks emerge, resembling giant viewing platforms left to us by our ancestors. From these heights, one can gaze upon the clear waters, lush green grass, and cattle and sheep scattered like pearls across the banks — a picturesque scene that unfolds like a grand tapestry of the beautiful northern landscapes.
