Xilinhot Milk Tea
Milk tea is also known as Mongolian tea. It is the most beloved beverage of the Mongolian people and is consumed with all three daily meals. The method of making milk tea typically involves first breaking up and pounding brick tea, then placing an appropriate amount of it in a cloth bag according to how much water is being used. The bag is placed in a pot of boiling or cold water until the water boils and the tea reaches a moderate color. Then the tea bag is removed, and fresh milk and salt are added. After bringing it to a boil, the mixture is stirred frequently with a spoon until the tea and milk are fully blended, resulting in milk tea. Sometimes the tea is brewed once and consumed over multiple occasions; when reheating, just add salt along with roasted rice or millet.
