"Let's Go, On the Road!" — The 2013 2nd Hohhot Trailwalker · Urban Hiking Event, jointly initiated and organized by the Hohhot Municipal Sports Bureau, the Hohhot Mountaineering Association, and other entities, is a public fitness activity. It offers participants the chance to experience Hohhot’s "One Line, Two Belts" public fitness network through hiking, while promoting low-carbon travel and building a livable Hohhot together.
It is understood that this event is a highly challenging team-based activity. Participants must form teams of at least four people who support and assist one another to reach the destination together. The hiking route starts in the Jin Qiao Development Zone of Hohhot, passing through Binhe Road, Hohhot East Railway Station, Hongsheng Industrial Park, and ending at the University Town Outlets, covering a total distance of 30 kilometers.
According to the event organizers, the "Trailwalker" event plans to recruit 1,000 participants and registration is free. Registration (team formation) formats include: signing up as a group or team squad, which requires having one team leader or coach; registering as a family team, where children aged 8–16 should not exceed half of the group; or forming a free team, consisting of at least four members, ideally with similar physical fitness and pacing, and with one designated captain.
In addition, 65 volunteers are being recruited: 10 photography volunteers, mainly tasked with taking portrait photos to provide material for the later photo contest and selection of the Trailwalker Ambassador, for public voting. There will be 20 on-site volunteers to coordinate the venue, manage crowd flow, and provide route guidance. Thirty cycling volunteers will monitor the event along the route and ensure safety. Five medical volunteers will also be involved.
