Best Time to Visit Inner Mongolia | EVA Air Launches New Flights to Hohhot & Hailar

With its distinctive natural landscapes and cultural charm, Inner Mongolia is attracting more and more tourists. Domestic airlines have sensed this untapped market potential and, starting this month, have launched new routes from Taoyuan to Hohhot and from Taoyuan to Hailar, aiming to be the first to provide passenger services on these Inner Mongolian routes.

EVA Air stated that the Taoyuan–Hohhot and Taoyuan–Hailar routes will commence operations on June 3 and June 4 respectively, making it the only Taiwanese airline flying to Inner Mongolia. Both routes will be operated using the A321-200 aircraft, featuring 8 business class seats and 176 economy class seats.

EVA Air also explained that June to September is the best travel season in Inner Mongolia. The newly launched destinations of Hohhot and Hailar offer unique desert and grassland scenery, which are very popular among travelers. The booking rate for the first week of flights exceeded 90%, and it is estimated that the average booking rate for June will surpass 80%.

EVA Air analyzed that the Taoyuan–Hohhot route has seasonal complementarity—summer is mainly for Taiwanese traveling to Inner Mongolia, while the rest of the year sees a peak in local residents visiting Taiwan. Hailar, famous for the Hulunbuir Grassland and bordering China and Russia, boasts diverse and distinctive natural scenery and culture. In addition to being a summer retreat, it also hosts an international ice and snow festival in winter. The Taoyuan–Hailar route will primarily cater to group travelers from Taiwan.

To celebrate the launch of the Hohhot and Hailar routes and invite the public to experience a different side of mainland China’s travel attractions, EVA Air has specially partnered with travel agencies to design various promotional tour packages. Tickets booked before June 12 for departures before the end of August start from just NT$20,666 for a 5-day, 4-night trip to the Mongolian Green Grasslands and the Singing Sand Dunes, NT$19,666 for a 4-day, 3-night trip to the Hulunbuir Grassland, and NT$35,900 for an 8-day, 7-night journey covering the Mongolian Singing Sand Dunes, Grasslands, and Genghis Khan Mausoleum.
