Tamsui Customs Wharf isn’t just great for sunset viewing—at night, you can enjoy its hidden gem: a spectacular light sea display！Vast swathes of peach-pink and teal LED lights weave together into an entire tunnel of lights, creating a truly dreamy scene. This year’s theme, “2017 Tamsui Customs Wharf Light Sea Festival,” combines local cultural charm and history, featuring public art exhibitions, small-farm creative markets, and cultural performances that bring back the wharf’s former glory.

2. New Taipei City Christmas Town
Taiwan’s most spectacular Christmas event—the New Taipei City Christmas Town—features “Taiwan’s largest 3D light projection show” and a “dreamy blue light tunnel.” This year, a 360-degree 3D projection is specially showcased on the Christmas tree and city hall building, resulting in an incredibly dazzling display. There’s also a circus-themed container market and amusement rides, making the festive atmosphere at New Taipei Christmas Town truly lively！

1. Frozen Festival
Running from now until January 14, 2018, at Taipei 101’s Water Dance Plaza, the “Frozen Festival” features six major icy highlights and ten heartwarming experiences. Fans can follow Elsa and Olaf on a frosty adventure. A 12-meter-high Christmas tree will stand at the center of the plaza, with crystal-like translucent leaves paired with a brilliant light show, creating the most romantic holiday ambiance.

2. COMMUNE A7 Magical White Christmas
Taipei’s Xinyi District COMMUNE A7 has built a 100-ping dream ice-skating rink this Christmas, using atomic skating boards that won’t melt, and regularly simulating “snowfall” in the venue, giving visitors a European or American holiday vibe. Starting mid-to-late December, a variety of fun festive events will be launched, including pet Christmas costume contests, singles meet-ups, and live performances by DJs, dancers, and a cappella groups—keeping the romance and joy going right into 2018！

3. Taipei Xinyi New World Weeeeee! Slide
Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi New World officially launched the 16-meter, four-story three-dimensional spiral slide “Weeeeee! Slide” on the 22nd, touted as “the tallest outdoor three-dimensional spiral slide in all of Asia.” Even though sliding down takes 15 seconds and costs NT$130, it hasn’t dampened visitors’ enthusiasm for trying something new. You can also see the polar bears, reindeer, and penguins from Opposite Planet across the way.

4. Mandarin Oriental Taipei
Every year, Mandarin Oriental Hotel meticulously designs its Christmas tree. This year, it broke the mold, using cake, birdcage, or dress concepts to wrap the entire fountain. It’s adorned with golden LED lights and blue snowflake lights, creating an even more atmospheric scene against the backdrop of the European-style building behind it. 5. BELLAVITA Christmas Town – A Taste of Old London
Last year’s fairytale Nordic wonderland by the luxury department store BELLAVITA has this Christmas taken on the theme “BELLAVITA Christmas Town – A Taste of Old London,” bringing 19th-century London street scenes into the department store atrium. Ultra-realistic flower and produce shops, classic red telephone booths, and specially custom-made vintage trams make stepping through the store doors feel like time-traveling into the setting of an old British movie.

1. Beitou Jiqing Christmas Lane
Every year as Christmas approaches, residents of Jiqing Borough in Beitou spontaneously decorate their front yards and homes with colorful lights. This tradition is now in its 18th year, with the decorations on Jiqing 71 Lane, Alley 15 being especially spectacular — hence nicknamed “Christmas Lane.” It’s considered the most Christmassy alley in all of Taipei.

2. Fuxing Christmas Park
About a 10-minute walk from Christmas Lane is Fuxing Christmas Park. Fuxing Borough Chief Cai Liuchi revealed that this year’s main light display stands 15 meters tall, accompanied by a 1.5-meter star — truly spectacular. Colorful lights and sphere decorations adorn the pillars, making the entire park look magical. Walking from Christmas Lane, you’ll be greeted by the neighborhood’s most enchanting light spectacle.

3. Gongguan Christmas Season
The Gongguan Christmas Season continues to uphold environmental protection and energy-saving concepts, running until December 31. Rather than focusing on extravagant light displays, it emphasizes plant arrangements complemented by dazzling lights to illuminate the fountain garden and the entire park.

Lin Jiayi of the Gongguan Water Resources Park stated that the park will be open to the public free of charge on December 24 for the concert. The National Taiwan Normal University Wind Orchestra has been invited to perform, and the lighting will feature colorful beams to create a warm and festive atmosphere on Christmas Eve.
