The Guangdong First Peak Tourist Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Guangdong First Peak Primitive Forest Scenic Area is located within the Nanling National Nature Reserve, approximately 220 kilometers from downtown Guangzhou, covering an area of about 138 square kilometers. The Shikengkong Peak within the scenic area, with an altitude of 1,902 meters, is the highest peak in Guangdong and can be called the "Himalayas" of the province. Majestic and robust, with steep yet graceful beauty, the surrounding peaks rise high and are distributed in a naturally exquisite arrangement. At dawn and dusk, reaching the summit offers a constantly changing sea of clouds and sunrise, spectacular and grand, with occasional mirage scenes appearing amidst the rainbow, sparking endless imagination among visitors.

The scenic area features deep valleys, long-flowing clear streams, and cascading waterfalls—one waterfall, one view—each colorful and magnificent. Relying on its natural ecology, the area highlights the characteristics of a subtropical biological gene bank, with over 2,000 species of plants. It boasts Guangdong’s largest expanse of primitive forest—vast, boundless, with ancient trees towering above, lush pines and cypresses, high-altitude azaleas, Nanling monopodium bamboo, rare flowers and plants, and precious birds and animals, all a visual delight. The refreshing negative ion-rich air is what makes visitors fall in love with First Peak. The Tianquan Waterfall area has an average negative ion concentration exceeding 40,000/cm³, peaking at 105,700/cm³, the highest in the province, earning it the title of "Negative Ion Holy Land."

The scenic area has planned and developed six major sightseeing and experience zones: the Shikengkong Tourist Area, Taipingdong Yao Village, Chengjia Grand Valley, Tianquan Waterfall, Tianquan Highland Hot Springs, and the First Peak Drift.
