Mingcui Valley Tourist Scenic Area is located in the suburbs, 3 kilometers from Yangshan County in Qingyuan City, and 180 kilometers from Guangzhou, just a 2-hour drive away.

The land on which Mingcui Valley Scenic Area is located is the core area of the Yangshan National Geopark. The scenic area features unique landforms, situated within the Xiang-Guang Fold Belt of China's active continental platform. Here, internal tectonic forces combined with external processes such as weathering and erosion have created numerous remarkable geological wonders.

As early as several million years ago during the Quaternary Ice Age, the green mountains were covered by thick layers of ice. At the interface between the ice and rock, glacial meltwater eddies carried stones, swirling and continuously impacting the rocks to form "glacial potholes." The Quaternary glacial geological relics in Mingcui Valley are highly distinctive, including cirques, glacial potholes, U-shaped valleys, gourd-shaped valleys, hanging valleys, glacial erratics, and pothole erratics. Most of these are concentrated along the scenic area’s rafting river, waterfalls, streams, and their edges, forming a rare natural geological wonder in the world.

Currently developed activities at Mingcui Valley Scenic Area include:

Valley Rafting: The Mingcui Valley Glacier Rafting Course, built upon glacial relics, offers unparalleled excitement. The rafting course spans 3.78 kilometers in total, with a total drop of 293 meters, a maximum continuous drop of 47 meters, and 45 individual drops. It includes 26 pools, 3 sections of nine consecutive extreme rapids, and speeds that can exceed 60 kilometers per hour. The rafting water comes from high mountain springs—cool and crystal clear—earning it the reputation of being “the clearest and most thrilling mountain spring rafting in Guangdong.”

Glacier Waterfall Group: The majestic glacier waterfall group consists of five levels of cascading falls. Nestled among the woods, the falls plunge from cliffs over 80 meters high, shining bright as silk ribbons, crashing into the pool below to create thousands of splashes and a roaring thunderous sound. The sight from afar shows the waterfall slicing through the lush, emerald cliffs — “a white ribbon cleaving the green mountain hues” — resembling a breathtaking landscape painting.

Hundred Birds Fairy Trail Eco Park: The Bird Valley is home to a diverse range of species and is known as “Guangdong’s largest pristine bird habitat valley” and “Guangdong’s largest osmanthus planting base,” as well as a provincial-level nature reserve. The valley features ancient thousand-year-old Sanzhi Gan trees and Dandanteng vines — both rare natural treasures — along with countless southern red maples and vast fields of osmanthus blossoms.

Twin-Colored Lake: The landscapes of Mingcui Valley are ever-changing, mysterious, and magnificent. In the shallow parts of the stream, the water is crystal clear, while in deeper sections, it takes on a faint blue hue. The blue waters, dotted with vibrant green aquatic plants, form a dreamlike and mystical Twin-Colored Lake.

Bianshui Village, Yangcheng Town, Yangshan County, is located to the west of Yangcheng Town. It comprises 27 village groups, with a total of 2,704 mu of arable land, including 1,173 mu of paddy fields and 1,474 mu of dry land. By the end of 2014, Bianshui Village had a total population of 4,256 people across 822 households, with 2,259 laborers. The total economic income of the village in 2014 was 28.95 million yuan, with 180,000 yuan in collective village income.
