The Luwuzui Site

The Luwuzui Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Heping County.

The Luwuzui Site is located on a relatively gentle hill in XinShe Village, Fucheng Town, Heping County. It dates back to the late Neolithic period. Discovered in 1985, the site covers an area of 5,000 square meters. Trial excavations were carried out in 1986. The cultural layer is 0.35 to 0.45 meters thick, containing red-fired earth blocks and charcoal fragments. Excavated pottery includes cauldrons, jars, dou (tripod food vessels), and others, mostly decorated with geometric impressed patterns, primarily twisted patterns, followed by grid patterns, rectangular grid patterns, vein patterns, ladder patterns, basket patterns, and double-circle patterns. Stone tools include trapezoidal adzes, shouldered adzes, chisels, arrowheads, and whetstones.

In 1986, the Heping County People's Government designated it as a cultural heritage protection site.
