Trial operation tickets for Heping Island’s hidden gem cost just NT$20, with a music festival and meteor shower stargazing event

In addition to events like the Summer Ocean Festival, visiting Alabao Bay in Heping Park to witness world-class sunrise and sunset views is not to be missed. Its stunning scenery was selected by “Chinese American Net” as one of the “21 Most Beautiful Sunrise Spots in the World.” The unique geological landscape is also a rare sight since the park closed in 2011.

Keelung’s Heping Island boasts rich geological landscapes. After being closed for renovation during this period, and in conjunction with the naming campaign of the Top Ten Unique Rocks, it will officially open on August 4. In addition to enjoying the park’s latest look, the color project at Zhengbin Fishing Port at the park entrance is also one of Keelung’s hottest Instagram photo spots.

The “Heping Island Earth Music Festival,” taking place on August 4 (Saturday), is combined with the grand opening of Heping Island Park. On that day, simply check in and like the Heping Island Park fan page to enter for free. The music festival lineup includes charismatic singers such as Lai Ming-wei and Liang Yi-chen from Super Star Avenue.

The North Coast Administration has partnered with the astronomy community’s stargazing event “Mars Opposition and Perseid Meteor Shower,” holding the Starry Banquet on July 22 (Sunday) and August 12 (Sunday) at the Dawu Battery parking lot. Through professional astronomical commentary and a variety of celestial observation activities, the stargazing experience becomes even more meaningful.
