Taiwan’s first “McDonald’s 2.0 flagship restaurant” was renovated from the former Taipei Kunming branch. McDonald’s Taiwan has officially entered the new EOTF (Experience of the Future) era, bringing customers a better dining experience through comprehensive innovations in store design, service, products, and digital services. The interior design was created by up-and-coming Hong Kong designer Nelson Chow, introducing a new Alphabet minimalist style, moving away from the traditional red and yellow color scheme to earthy wood tones paired with black and white, changing the public’s established impression of McDonald’s main visual identity.

China launched its first 2.0 concept restaurant in Shenzhen as early as the end of 2016 and plans to upgrade over 1,000 stores. Now, McDonald’s Taiwan also plans to gradually upgrade all 180 McDonald’s locations across Taiwan to “McDonald’s 2.0” within three years. In addition to introducing digital self-service ordering kiosks and table service, the upgrade will also include the addition of front-of-house hospitality ambassadors and the full promotion of mobile payments.

Additionally, McDonald’s has announced that starting today, all 396 branches across Taiwan will daily offer the “Signature Collection burgers,” which were previously limited-time offerings last year, and will also include salad in the main meal menu for the first time. Meanwhile, three products—the 4 oz Beef Burger, Double 4 oz Beef Burger, and 1995 American Bacon Beef Burger—will be discontinued.
