Swim in the sea during the day and enjoy an open-air concert in the evening—the Heping Island Earth Music Festival kicks off this Saturday!

Located in Keelung, Heping Island was renamed Heping Island Cape Park after renovation in 2012, becoming the closest water recreation destination to New Taipei City. Visitors can swim in the sea and enjoy family-friendly amusement facilities. Currently, the Cape Park features three main zones: the sea swimming area, the rocky landscape area, and the visitor service center. In the future, camping and barbecue areas will also be opened, making Heping Island a diverse and vibrant recreational hub.

This summer, the North Coast & Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, MOTC, is hosting the 2017 Happy North Coast series event — the "Heping Island Earth Music Festival." On August 5th, the first large-scale concert will be held at Heping Island Park in Keelung, featuring performances by well-known bands such as Qingcao Sen Band, Golden Melody Awards nominee artist Liao Shih-hsien, postman singer Daruis, Super Idol contestant Fu Chiong-yin, and Golden Melody Awards nominee songstress Gao Lei-ya. The event is free and open to both domestic and international visitors.
