Once chosen as one of the world’s 21 most beautiful sunrise observation points, Peace Island Park had been closed for six years due to safety concerns. Managed and reopened by the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration in a way that allows coexistence with nature, the relevant facilities have been refurbished. It has also been announced that operations will begin in 2018. During the preparation period, both Peace Island Park and its parking lot are open for free use. Visitors eager to admire the stunning seascape and sunrise are encouraged to seize the opportunity.

Since taking over management, the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration has carried out improvements on surrounding landscapes such as the outdoor pool, beach, park entrance, and parking lot. Currently, the indoor renovation of the Peace Island Visitor Center is underway. Peace Island Park will remain free to the public until February 15. Starting February 16, a modest cleaning fee of NT$20 per person will be charged.

During the free admission period, Peace Island Park offers free guided tours at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM on national holidays, introducing the area’s natural environment and historical stories. Additionally, lanterns left over from the Taiwan Lantern Festival will be used to create an environmental display with the theme “Warm and Happy Coast,” enhancing the serene and romantic atmosphere of the island.

Transportation:
Public Transport – Take Keelung City Bus No. 101 and get off at “Peace Island Park Station.” It’s about a 5-minute walk from there.
Driving – Freeway 1: Exit at Keelung Interchange, go straight along Zhongzheng Road, turn left onto Zhengbin Road, continue across Heping Bridge, then go straight along He 1st Rd., and turn right onto Ping 1st Rd. to arrive.
