The former residence of Martyr Zhou Baoshi is located in Jianxia Natural Village, Shihan Village, Xiazai Town, Heping County.

Zhou Baoshi, also known as Huimin, was born in 1916 in Shihan, Xiazai Town, Heping County. In 1931, he enrolled at Longchuan No.1 Middle School. After the September 18th Incident, teachers and students from the school took to the streets to promote resistance against Japan and save the nation. Zhou Baoshi delivered a passionate speech, calling on people from all walks of life to support the Communist Party’s propositions, stop the civil war, and unite against Japan. In November 1938, he joined the Chinese Communist Party and served as the Party Branch Secretary of the Longhe Team of the Seventh Sub-group of the “Dongjiang Overseas Chinese Returnee Service Corps.” He led Party members in carrying out anti-Japanese salvation propaganda activities in Reshui and Liyuan areas of Heping. In September of the same year, he became the Secretary of the Heping County Committee of the CPC, continuing to lead the farmers' association in Reshui in their struggle to protect perpetual tenancy rights, which they won. In February 1940, the Dongjiang Special Committee of the CPC sent Zhou Baoshi to the Dahua and Zhongxin regions of Lianping County to establish Party organizations. Under the cover of being a teacher at Hudong Primary School, he successively recruited Wu Hongsheng and Zeng Fangru into the Party, forming the first Party cell in Lianping County. In May of the same year, Zhou was assigned to Xinfeng County to establish the Xinfeng County Working Committee of the CPC and served as its secretary. In 1941, Zhou was dispatched by the Houdong Special Committee to expose the Kuomintang’s false anti-Japanese stance. He was carrying secret leaflets printed by the Houdong Special Committee titled “The Wannan Incident” on his way to Xinfeng County when he was arrested in Fushui Village. Despite brutal torture, he remained steadfast, kept the Party’s secrets, and used numerous facts to expose the Kuomintang's crimes. In 1941, he was secretly executed in the deep mountains of Wengyuan County at the age of 24.

The residence was originally built in the late Qing Dynasty, facing south with its back to the north. It has a total width of 16 meters and a depth of 54 meters, covering an area of 864 square meters. The layout consists of three sections and two wings, spanning two stories. It is constructed with a brick, wood, and stone structure, featuring a flush gable roof covered with gray tiles, ridges made of stacked tiles, granite stone foundations, mud-brick walls, and interior lime plastering. The front has a row of three doors, with the central one leading to upper, middle, and lower halls. The middle hall features a wooden screen inscribed with the characters “Duxing Tang” (Hall of Sincere Celebration). Corridors connect the two halls, with wing rooms on both sides. All three halls have passageways leading to the wing sections. The roof beams inside are simply designed. There is a front courtyard, surrounding walls, and a south-facing gate tower.

In January 2012, it was included in the Heping County Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage Sites.
