Qingzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Qingzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located on a small hill to the north of Qingzhou Town in Heping County.

During the Liberation War, the Third Detachment of the Dongjiang Column was stationed in the Qingzhou area at the foot of the Jiulian Mountains, where they carried out revolutionary activities and established local armed forces. Throughout the long course of the revolutionary struggle, the people of Qingzhou actively cooperated with and supported the Third Detachment, participating in a series of revolutionary battles such as anti-sweeping campaigns, making significant contributions to the liberation of the Heping region. To commemorate the dozens of heroic men and women who sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary cause during the Liberation War, the local government built the "Qingzhou Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument" in the 1970s and renovated it in 2002.

The monument is square tower-shaped, constructed with red bricks and surfaced with stone plaster, standing 7.8 meters tall. The base has three-tiered steps, with the bottom tier measuring 2.6 meters on each side and the body of the monument 1.5 meters per side. It features a four-cornered pyramidal roof covered with yellow glazed tiles and topped with a gourd-shaped finial. The southern face bears a bas-relief inscription reading "Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument," signed "Zheng Qun," while the northern face displays "Revolutionary Martyrs Live Forever." The base of the monument is inlaid with a granite plaque inscribed with the names of the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Qingzhou during the Liberation War. The surrounding area of the monument includes a 4.8-meter-wide platform with brick-built octagonal railings on all four sides. Approximately 8.5 meters to the north of the monument stands a semi-circular martyrs' tomb, surfaced with stone plaster, with pink ceramic tiles on the front and a granite slab in the center inscribed with "Martyrs' Tomb." On either side are carved couplets: "Heroic Names Last Ten Thousand Years, Great Deeds Shine Through a Thousand Autumns."

In November 2010, it was designated as a Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the Heping County Government.
