Jushi Township Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Jushi Township Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is a cultural relic protection unit of Heping County and a classic red tourism destination.

The Jushi Township Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located on Heshang Mountain, south of Jushi Primary School in Jushi Village, Pengzhai Town, Heping County.

During the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War, a total of 11 revolutionary martyrs sacrificed their lives in the Jushi area. To honor the spirits of these martyrs and promote revolutionary traditions, in the early years of the People’s Republic, the Jushi Township Party Branch and the Jushi Township Government built the “Jushi Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument” on Heshang Mountain, to the right of Jushi Primary School. Liang Xixiang, the former secretary of the Hedong District Party Committee, composed the inscription for the monument.

The monument was originally built in 1984 and was renovated and expanded in December 1986. It is constructed of brick and stone, surfaced with stone plaster, and has a three-tiered square pagoda shape, with a base side of 1.5 meters and a height of 5 meters. On the north side, the inscription “Jushi Township Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument” is carved in relief, while the south side bears the words “Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs,” signed by “The Jushi Township Party Branch of the CPC and the Jushi Township People’s Government.” The second tier of the north side features an embedded granite stele inscribed with the preface to the monument. The stele on the south side lists the names of the martyrs: Huang Shuduan, Liang Quanmin, Huang Bingrong, Huang Shiyan, Huang Foguang, Huang Dongquan, Zeng Guanmei, and Zeng Jinzhong—nine in total. The monument is surrounded by a hexagonal solid-wall railing.

In January 2012, it was designated as a key cultural relics protection unit by the Heping County Government.
