The former site of the CCP Jiulian Working Committee is located in Chaoke Natural Village, Yongfeng Village, Qingzhou Town, Heping County.

In March 1947, the CCP Hong Kong Bureau decided to unify the Party’s leadership across the entire Jiulian Mountain region. It dissolved the Houdong Special Committee and the Provisional CCP Jiulian Working Committee, and established the CCP Jiulian Regional Working Committee (abbreviated as Jiulian Working Committee), with Yan Shangmin serving as the secretary. The headquarters of the Jiulian Working Committee was set up at Laiwu in Qingzhou. After its establishment, the Jiulian Working Committee held its first expanded meeting, clearly proposing the political goals of “opposing the three levies (conscription, grain requisition, and taxation), breaking into granaries to distribute grain, and establishing a revolutionary united front.”

Under the leadership of the Jiulian Working Committee, local Party organizations in western and eastern Heping, together with the “Guangdong-Gan Border People’s Volunteer Corps,” launched large-scale campaigns against the three levies. They mobilized the masses to break into granaries and distribute grain, reduce rents and interest rates, and suppress landlords and local tyrants. The movement was widespread and shook the surrounding areas. Within a few months, they successively captured the township offices and police stations of Pengzhai, Dongshui, Linzhai, and Gongbai, striking down local reactionary forces and bandits in Sanhe, Shangwan, Chuantang, and Dahu. A total of over 50 long guns were seized, along with more than 1,500 dan (a traditional unit of volume) of grain from the granaries. The confiscated rice was distributed to help impoverished people, earning widespread support from the masses. Many young farmers and students volunteered to join the army and fight. The troops rapidly expanded, and many areas saw the restoration or establishment of peasant associations and militia organizations. Subsequently, “Standing Self-Defense Teams” were formed in Qingzhou, Reshui, and Dahu, while the Dachi Detachment was established by Party organizations in Fucheng and Daba, which joined the troops in carrying out revolutionary struggles in Daba, Cengang, Shangling, and the border areas of San’nan in Jiangxi.

This former site is a building owned by the local Lai family, facing southeast at a 45-degree angle, covering an area of 864 square meters. It is 32 meters wide with seven bays and 28 meters deep, consisting of two courtyards with a central skywell. The structure is made of earth, wood, brick, and tile, with mud-brick walls, a flush gable roof, and a layout of three sections and two wings. There is a row of three doors and a recessed entrance gate. The central section includes an upper and lower hall, with a skywell in between, connected by a corridor. There are wing rooms on both sides, each also featuring a skywell and eaves terrace, and the front of the side wings has rectangular skywells. Behind the house is a row of pillow-beam rooms, with an open space in front of the door and a semicircular pond outside the yard.

In January 2010, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit by the Heping County People’s Government. In January 2010, it was announced as a patriotic education base by the Heping County Party Committee and County Government.
