Former Site of the Expanded Meeting of the Temporary Working Committee of the Jiulian Mountain Area of the Communist Party of China

The Former Site of the Expanded Meeting of the Temporary Working Committee of the Jiulian Mountain Area of the Communist Party of China is located at Zhao Gong Temple atop the main peak of Dasha Mountain in Changre Village, Dongshui Town, Heping County.

In the summer of 1946, after the Third Detachment of the Dongjiang Column was withdrawn northward to Shandong, the 58 remaining soldiers hid in the mountains of Dongshui for a period before gathering in early October at Zhao Gong Temple in the mountains of Dongshui Township, Heping County, to hold an expanded meeting of the Temporary Working Committee of the Jiulian Mountain Area. The “Lianhe People's Self-Defense Corps” and the “Dongjiang Column Demobilized Soldiers' Self-Defense Team” were re-established to continue the struggles against oppression and anti-clearance campaigns. From then on, armed resistance in the Jiulian area was fully resumed.

The temple was originally built during the Qing Dynasty, facing south with a 20-degree westward orientation, covering an area of 85.5 square meters, with a width of 9 meters and a depth of 5.4 meters. It features a structure of wood, earth, bricks, and tiles, with stone and brick walls, a flush gable roof, three bays in width and one bay in depth. The central part is the main hall, with side rooms on both sides. In front of the hall lies a semi-circular front courtyard enclosed by a one-meter-high wall, with gateways on the left and right.

In January 2012, it was included in the Heping County Register of Immovable Cultural Relics for Protection.
