Former Site of the CCP Peace Middle School Branch

The former site of the CCP Peace Middle School Branch is located at Peace Middle School on Beilougang, Zhongshan Road, Yangming Town, Heping County.

In November 1939, the CCP branch at Peace Middle School was established, with Huang Dingbang as the secretary, Zhuang Kewen as the organizational committee member, and Luo Qiuyun as the publicity committee member. Within less than a year, 33 teachers and students from the school had joined the Communist Party. After its establishment, the branch secretly organized underground reading groups, carried out singing activities, frequently held extracurricular singing events during evening gatherings or holidays to attract and unite progressive students, distributed revolutionary leaflets, conducted revolutionary propaganda, and gathered intelligence, all of which played a certain role in promoting the anti-Japanese salvation movement in the Heping area.

The school was first built in 1919 at the site of the old examination hall near Xiaodongmen in the county town. On November 29, 1938, Japanese aircraft bombed Heping County, leading to the relocation of Peace Middle School to Shuibeicun in Daba, before later returning to its original campus.

In January 2012, it was included in the Heping County Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage Protection Sites.
