Bulgakov Museum

The Bulgakov Museum is located on Andriyivskyy Descent in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and was established to commemorate Mikhail Bulgakov, the great Soviet novelist and playwright of the first half of the 20th century. The museum officially opened to the public on May 15, 1991, as this date was the 100th anniversary of Bulgakov's birth.

Bulgakov was born into a Russian family in Kyiv, Ukraine, and was deeply influenced by writers such as Gogol and Goethe. He became known for his plays at the Moscow Art Theatre and authored famous novels including *The Master and Margarita*, *The Theatrical Novel*, and *The White Guard*. The museum houses over 2,500 items related to Bulgakov, including books, postcards, photographs, calendars, personal belongings, as well as the desk, lamp, and newspapers he once used. The museum exudes a literary atmosphere, and through the display of these historic objects, visitors can even imagine Bulgakov diligently creating his works here.
