Photographers who risk their lives for stunning shots may be called artistic martyrs, but the Ukrainian man who dangled precariously from the edge of a high-rise bridge and took photos was driven by a passion for urban free climbing. According to a report by the UK's Daily Mail on January 19, this fearless Ukrainian man, known online as "Mustang Wanted," recently gained viral fame after videos and photos surfaced showing him hanging one-armed from the edge of Moscow Bridge with the help of his friend James Kingston. The Moscow Bridge, located over the Dnipro River in Ukraine's capital Kyiv, stands approximately 377 feet (about 115 meters) tall.
The video shows that on the day of the stunt, "Mustang Wanted" and James strapped cameras to their heads and quickly climbed to the top of the bridge without safety harnesses. After some preparatory moves, James gripped "Mustang Wanted's" wrist and slowly lowered him over the edge of the bridge, leaving him suspended by just one arm, appearing as if he were dangling on the brink of life.
According to reports, "Mustang Wanted" is a leading figure among urban free climbing enthusiasts in Eastern Europe. These thrill-seekers specialize in scaling tall buildings—often without any safety measures—and even hanging off their edges to push the boundaries of extreme risk-taking. James, also an enthusiast, lives in Southampton, UK, and often spends his free time climbing nearby telescopic cranes and radio towers.
