Traveling from Taiwan to the Middle East will become more convenient. Emirates Airline will operate daily non-stop flights between Taipei and Dubai starting February 10, 2014. This marks the first direct route between Taipei and the Middle East. Passengers from Taipei will not only enjoy a direct flight of approximately eight hours to Dubai but can also use Dubai as a hub to connect to over 70 countries across the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, and Europe. In addition, Emirates is currently offering a ticket promotion—starting now, economy class round-trip tickets from Taipei to Dubai are available from just NT$30,146 including taxes, while economy class round-trip tickets to Madrid, Europe, start from just NT$26,673 including taxes. The promotional fares must be purchased before December 31 and are valid for travel from February 10 to June 14, 2014.

The Taipei route will be served by the Boeing 777-300ER, which features eight first-class private suites, 42 fully flat-bed business class seats, and a spacious economy class that accommodates 304 passengers. Passengers in all classes can enjoy gourmet meals. The aircraft is also equipped with Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system, ice, which offers over 1,600 channels featuring the latest blockbuster films, subtitled Hollywood movies, music, TV programs, and games.

Emirates, based in Dubai, currently operates 138 destinations across 78 countries. Earlier this year, the airline launched new routes to Warsaw, Algiers, Tokyo Haneda, Clark in the Philippines, the Milan–New York Atlantic route, Conakry, Sialkot in Pakistan, and Kabul in Afghanistan. In early 2014, Emirates will begin flights to Kyiv and, following the inaugural Taipei route, will launch services to Boston starting March 10.
