Traveling from Taiwan to the Middle East will become more convenient as Emirates Airlines will operate daily non-stop flights between Taipei and Dubai starting February 10, 2014. This marks the first-ever direct air route between Taipei and the Middle East. Passengers from Taipei will not only enjoy an approximately 8-hour direct flight to Dubai, but can also use Dubai as a hub to travel to over 70 destinations across the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, and Europe. In addition, Emirates Airlines is currently offering promotional fares: round-trip economy class tickets from Taipei to Dubai start at just NT$30,146 (taxes included), while round-trip economy class tickets to Madrid, Europe start at NT$26,673 (taxes included). The discounted fares must be purchased before December 31, 2013, and are valid for travel between February 10 and June 14, 2014.

The Taipei route will be served by the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which features 8 private luxury suites in First Class, 42 fully flat-bed seats in Business Class, and a spacious Economy Class that accommodates 304 passengers. Passengers in all classes can enjoy fine dining. The aircraft is also equipped with Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system, ice, offering over 1,600 channels, including the latest blockbuster films, Hollywood movies with subtitles, music, TV programs, and games.

With Dubai as its hub, Emirates Airlines currently operates 138 destinations across 78 countries. Earlier this year, the airline launched new routes to Warsaw, Algiers, Tokyo Haneda, Clark in the Philippines, Milan–New York transatlantic flights, Conakry, Sialkot in Pakistan, and Kabul in Afghanistan. In early 2014, Emirates will begin flying to Kiev, and after the inaugural Taipei route, it will start operating flights to Boston starting March 10.
