The Chernobyl Museum in Ukraine is located in Kyiv and was established in 1992. Though not very large, it attracts a steady stream of visitors. The museum houses nearly 7,000 documents, maps, photographs, and some physical exhibits, presenting various aspects of the world's largest nuclear accident to its visitors. The museum is divided into three main exhibition halls. The first hall primarily introduces the rescue personnel and the events as they unfolded—visitors can see a model of the nuclear power plant and learn about its structure and operating principles. Additionally, there is a dedicated video showing the working and living conditions of the surrounding cities after the nuclear incident, as well as scenes of the rescue efforts. The second hall covers the locations around the power plant, the process and consequences of the nuclear contamination, and features a special computer simulation of the nuclear disaster on April 26. The third hall is a memorial to those who came after, with many shocking images that are difficult to look at.

The museum displays exhibits such as piglets that suffered genetic mutations due to severe radiation after the disaster, photographs of the victims, portraits of heroes who lost their lives in the rescue efforts, and news images that shook the world at the time—all of which are deeply moving.
