Guide   Currently, the first-floor meeting hall serves as a venue for town meetings, while the second-floor hall is still used by citizens for various gatherings. The third floor houses a museum operated by the headquarters of the Boston Artillery Regiment. Quincy Market is located right behind Faneuil Hall, where restaurants and shops are also clustered.    Introduction   Faneuil Hall was built by Peter Faneuil in 1742, originally serving as a commercial hall and the city’s public meeting place. But before the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War, Boston citizens often gathered in this building to discuss major issues such as independence and freedom. As a result, the building earned the nickname “Cradle of Liberty.”    Admission / Opening Hours   Opening Hours: 9:00–17:00 (Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day)
