“My American Dream Vacation” Gives Away More Prizes—Upload Summer Photos for a Chance to Win Free Air Tickets

What does summer in the U.S. look like in your memory? The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Taiwan Association for Tourism Promotion have jointly organized the “My American Dream Vacation” campaign, now in its third year. Centered around the four seasons, each partner will introduce seasonal attractions and activities. This season’s theme is “Summer,” where we’ll share beautiful outdoor experiences, joyful summer festivals, and exciting shopping adventures.

In its second year, “My American Dream Vacation” featured themes including shopping, amusement parks, sports, and national parks. The online photography contest received a total of 1,695 entries, with the campaign website attracting 121,450 visitors and 829,304 page views. Organizers stated that the photography competition met expectations, and today (26th) at the summer-themed press conference, winners of the previous air ticket giveaway were announced.

This season’s “American Summer” theme of the “My American Dream Vacation” campaign hopes to engage more travelers who have visited the U.S. before.From now until June 25, simply upload photos you or your friends and family took in the U.S. during spring to the “My American Dream Vacation” website, along with a 140-character description, or share them via Facebook with other netizens. You could win two round-trip Delta Air Lines tickets between Taipei and Montana, USA, plus at least two nights of accommodation in Montana..

According to official data released by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of Travel and Tourism Industries, Taiwan residents’ visits to the U.S. grew by 35% within the 11-month visa waiver period, showing increased interest and demand for travel to the U.S. In line with U.S. President Obama’s goal of attracting one hundred million visitors to the U.S. by 2021, Taiwanese travelers are expected to play a key role.
