Nā Pali Coast State Park
Introduction The Nā Pali Coast is one of the most spectacular natural sights in the world. For 600 years, a small group of Native Hawaiians lived in this environment of green cliffs and ocean vistas. The Kalalau Trail is the only land access to the park. Hiking up the steep mountain path reveals remnants of their lives, including ancient temples and the crumbling walls of houses. To walk along the Kaʻalupehuakea Beach, a permit must be obtained from the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
