Yeouido Estuary Eco Park

Yeouido Estuary Eco Park, also known as Yeouido Han River Tributary Eco Park, is located in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Established in 1997, it is one of the earliest eco parks in South Korea. The park is divided into six themed zones: the “Yeouido Landscape Area,” “Water Purification Wetland Area,” “Eco Experience Area,” “Willow Culture Area,” and “Eco Conservation Area,” allowing visitors to appreciate the ecological park from various perspectives.

The best spot to enjoy a panoramic view of Yeouido Estuary Eco Park is the Tributary Bridge, a pedestrian-only bridge connecting Sindorim Station on Subway Line 1 to the Yeouido area. The bridge features resting benches. After crossing the bridge and approaching Yeouido, you’ll find the “Tributary Information Center.” Next to the wooden steps of the center is a small waterfall; the water comes from groundwater discharged by Subway Line 5, and is classified as Grade 1 purity. The discharged water collects in “Yeouido Pond,” which is home to various fish species such as catfish and carp. Reed and other aquatic plants grow around the wetland and pond, helping to purify the water. Along the walking path, after passing Yeouido Pond and the reed wetland, you’ll also find a bike path lined with signs explaining the Han River tributary.
