Ninety-Nine Mile Beach, formerly known as Tamoura and also called Yashibo, is located on the Bōsō Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture. It stretches approximately 66 kilometers from Kannonzaki in the north to Taito-zaki in the south, making it Japan’s second-longest beach. It has been selected as one of Japan’s “100 Best White Sand, Green Pine Beaches” and “100 Best Beaches in Japan,” and is one of Japan’s most famous spots for swimming and surfing.
