Taiwan’s Alishan Forest Railway’s Jiji Line officially formed a sister railway relationship with Japan’s Isumi Railway in Chiba Prefecture in October 2014. In the future, visitors who purchase a one-day pass in either location can ride the other railway for free. This is the second such friendly partnership between Taiwan and Japan following the collaboration between Taiwan’s Pingxi Line and Japan’s Enoshima Electric Railway. Recently, the “Isumi Railway” (ISUMI) has launched a “Sashimi Train,” allowing passengers to enjoy both scenic railway views and delicious, fresh sashimi dishes while traveling.

Since 2008, the Isumi Railway has successively launched firefly-viewing trains, Rilakkuma trains, Isumi Railway rice crackers, and other cultural and creative products and special trains, gaining widespread recognition. Especially from February to April each spring, visitors can enjoy a continuous 13-kilometer stretch of rapeseed flower fields, golden carpets, and breathtaking pastoral scenery, covering a total area of 53,000 square meters. It's a perfect place to enjoy spring and a must-visit local railway attraction for railway enthusiasts visiting Chiba Prefecture.
