Salaryman’s Wife drama filming location, Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture, and the Chiba Ken & Tappei Dog appearances at Taiwan Lantern Festival

The lantern festival site features lantern displays and exhibition booths promoting Chiba Prefecture and Tateyama City. Various stunt performances will also be held on-site, including traditional sword demonstrations by the “Kumado Ryushi Kai.” The Kumado Ryushi Kai is a swordsmanship training school led by b8 Numakura Tomotaka, Japan’s only sword-dancing choreographer who performs while wearing prosthetic limbs.

The viewing spot for the Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture, lantern displays at the Taiwan Lantern Festival is located in the Friendship Cities Lantern Area of the Houli Lantern Zone. Tateyama City will feature a stage performance of "The Eight Dog Chronicles." From the city mayor and the head of the tourism association to local performers such as the “Handmade Armor Team,” the “Kumado Ryushi Kai” dressed as Sengoku-era warriors, the InuYasha warriors, and Princess Fuse, as well as Chiba Prefecture’s mascot “Chiba Ken” and Tateyama City’s mascot “Tappei Dog,” all will join the parade. The performances showcase traditional Japanese folk performing arts such as the “Sword Return Dance,” which uses swords to ward off evil spirits and pray for peace and happiness in the new year.
