Northeast Coast National Scenic Area

Nestled between mountains and the sea, the Northeast Coast features a rugged coastline dotted with bays and capes, spectacular craggy cliffs, majestic marine erosion formations, soft golden beaches, and a vibrant marine ecosystem, as well as nurturing simple and rustic cultural and historical sites.

The Northeast Coast National Trail System is situated in Taiwan’s northeast coastal area. The main trails are currently divided into the Caoling Ancient Trail, Longlin Ancient Trail, and Jinzibei Ancient Trail, while branch trails include the Can Guang Liao Mountain–Wu’er Tea Pot Mountain–Keelung Mountain Trail. Among these, the Caoling Ancient Trail and Longlin Ancient Trail are within the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area, whereas the Jinzibei Ancient Trail and Keelung Mountain–Can Guang Liao Mountain Trail are located in Ruifang District, Keelung City.

A Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration Office has been established within the scenic area to oversee its development, construction, and management. To date, tourism and recreational facilities have been completed at various attractions including Nanya, Bitou Cape, Longdong Bay, Longdong South Entrance, Golden Sand Bay, Yanliao, Longmen, Fulong, Shicheng, Dali, and Beiguan. Additionally, there is a visitor service center that provides information on travel, accommodation, and transportation, along with public facilities such as restrooms and dining options.
