“Happy Yilan” In-depth Tourism Attracts Mainland Tourists; Yilan County Magistrate Leads Delegation to Nanjing

To promote Yilan’s tourism, Yilan County Magistrate Lin Congxian personally led local tourism operators to Nanjing on the mainland to hold a tourism promotion event. The “Happy Yilan” in-depth tourism package highlights Yilan’s beautiful mountains and waters, as well as its rich agricultural specialties, aiming to attract mainland tourists for independent travel to Taiwan. Among them, the “Dongsen Marine Hot Spring Hotel,” known as the most beautiful private garden in the northeast coast, became the most inquired-about hotel.

On October 30, Yilan County Magistrate Lin Congxian led a delegation including the Yilan County Tourism Association, Yilan County Hotel Association, Dongsen Marine Hot Spring Hotel, A-Xian Hot Spring Club, Young Lions Hotel, Fuxiang Hotel, Yilan Traditional Arts Center, Tsang Wine Winery, and several travel agencies to hold a Yilan tourism promotion event at the InterContinental Nanjing Greenland Hotel. Yuan Ding, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Bureau, along with other distinguished guests, attended the luncheon on behalf of Jiangsu Province and warmly welcomed the delegation, expressing hope for more exchanges in the future and encouraging visitors to Taiwan to include Yilan in their itinerary.

The promotion event also invited the Lanyang Drama Troupe to perform, using Lanyang opera to introduce Yilan’s tourism features and highlights to the attending dignitaries and local tourism operators. It also offered tastings of famous Yilan specialties such as sticky tapioca balls, peanut roll ice cream, duck jerky, Yilan cake, kumquats, preserved fruits, and Honglu wine. The event attracted numerous journalists from Jiangsu media, helping more people learn about Yilan’s beautiful landscapes and experience the “Happy Yilan” in-depth tourism.

Many local tourism operators in Jiangsu said that many mainlanders have heard that Yilan is a great place for leisure travel. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, mainland tourists visiting Taiwan often only stay briefly in Yilan and are relatively unfamiliar with its tourism resources. Aside from well-known attractions such as Taipingshan, Qilan Sacred Tree Forest, Jiaoxi Hot Springs, Luodong Night Market, and Guishan Island, the Yilan County Government hopes this promotion event will help more people understand Yilan and offer independent travelers from the mainland more diverse and enriching travel options across the beautiful island.

This promotion event also specially recommended a new must-visit attraction in Yilan — the “Dongsen Marine Hot Spring Hotel.” Blessed with the rare and precious marine golden spring, and offering views of two of the Eight Scenic Spots of Lanyang — “Turtle Mountain Sunrise” and “Beiguan Tidal Bore” — seven out of ten rooms in the hotel face the Pacific Ocean, allowing guests to enjoy breathtaking sea views almost from their beds. With such a unique environment and the allure of the marine golden spring, it became the most inquired-about hotel at the event.
