Wufengqi Scenic Area

The most famous attraction in Wufengqi Scenic Area is the “Wufengqi Waterfall.”

The waterfall has three tiers and is about 100 meters in total length. The first tier is approximately 20 meters long, hidden behind small valleys and tree groves.

Along its flow, there are several pools where visitors can play in the water.

The second tier is about 30 meters long and is also the most well-known part of the waterfall. The spring water cascades down from the mountainside, and there is an observation pavilion at the cliff corner that offers a view of the layered green mountains—it’s the best spot to admire the waterfall.

The third tier is about 50 meters long. The spring water pours down from the mountain like galloping horses, splashing water and creating thick mist. Visitors can play in the water or swim in the pool to enjoy the coolness in the heat of summer.

Next to Wufengqi Scenic Area lies another tranquil spot—the source of the Wufengqi Waterfall. By following a small path next to the temple at the entrance and hiking uphill for about an hour, you’ll find several small ponds with incredibly sweet-tasting water.

Many hikers often collect this water to brew tea after their treks, so the hiking community has nicknamed this place “Wufeng Quiet Valley.”

Above Wufengqi Scenic Area is the Catholic Wufengqi Our Lady Mountain Villa. Legend has it that the Virgin Mary once appeared here to guide lost hikers, making it a pilgrimage site for believers. The area offers excellent views of the Lanyang Plain and is a popular hiking route (with about a 2-hour uphill hike).
